Oppia has a large subscriber list, but not every contact has enough information to identify their audience type. The goal was to re-engage inactive subscribers.
I wanted the design to feel warm and welcoming while staying consistent with Oppia's existing branding.
I used a photo of children learning as the main visual and paired it with a simple headline.
I also used clear sections, whitespace, and two CTA buttons to make the email easy to scan. The first CTA lets subscribers quickly confirm so they don't have to scroll, while the second takes them to the survey.
I kept the overall design relatively simple so the main focus stayed on the message and the survey.
Used Oppia's existing colors and logo.
Used a human-centered image to reinforce the mission.
Created a clear visual hierarchy.
Used two CTAs for subscribers at different points in the email.
Kept the survey as the main action without making the email feel overly promotional.
Connected the survey to future personalization.
I wanted the email to feel like a genuine check-in rather than a typical re-engagement email.
I opened with a simple question: “Still Want Our Emails?” so the purpose of it would be obvious immediately.
From there, I focused on two reasons for the email: thanking subscribers for supporting Oppia and asking them to help us better understand what they want to receive.
And pointing out future emails will be helpful, valuable, and relevant to their interests, rather than simply asking them to stay subscribed.
